I was discussing with another mom friend of mine that I wish Alyssa came with a sheet of paper each morning with instructions for me. Solid food has thrown me a loop. Our feeding schedule (formula only) used to be every 3 hours, pretty predictable, and I always had to work backwards from our 8 p.m. bath/bottle/bed routine, adjusting where needed, depending on the time she woke up in the morning. Now with solids she can go 4-5 hours without eating. Sometimes she only eats an ounce (when you are expecting her to eat 6, wasting 5 ozs of a bottle); then when you think she wants a smaller bottle, she fusses when finished because she wants more. I can't win. I guess I can be happy solids are going well. She didn't do so well on Oatmeal, didn't care much for the taste and her spitting up increased a lot after each time she ate it. Rice cereal works well so we went back to rice. As for fruits and veggies we have tried sweet potatoes and pears and she liked both. So back to the instruction sheet...my suggestions for her would be times she'd like to eat, how much she'd like to eat, what activities she'd like to do (and not do - for example, mom do not attempt to take me to the mall today I will have a meltdown and you will have to abort mission), etc. Ah life would be so much easier if I could have a daily baby manual, but then maybe I wouldn't want to follow such a schedule?
