Tempra the wonder drug

Alyssa had her 2 month check up yesterday. She is now 11 lbs 9 ozs and in the 80th percentile. Apparently she is growing along a good curve and her development is ahead of where it should be (in terms of the doctor's observations of the strength of her limbs, her socialization, etc). Because yesterday was immunization day I had given Alyssa Tempra in the morning, prior to our appointment. The Tempra we have is not dye-free, which I'm going to go get as the dye (at least I think that's what it is) makes her hyper for about an hour and a half after she has the Tempra...but then the Tempra Gods smile upon her and make her sleep for a LONG time. Ah, sleep. So Alyssa slept most of the day away yesterday, and the night as well. I had given her 3 doses throughout the day, the last one just before bed, and she slept through the night for the first time in a few nights! If only we could drug children all the time. Also contributing to the sleeping through the night could be the fact that the batteries died in our baby monitor in the night and I didn't realize it so I couldn't hear her! That being said her bassinet is on the wall in her room that is shared with our room so I'm sure I would have heard her if she was really upset. I still felt like the world's worst mother though when I woke up this morning to find the baby monitor was power-less!
