Alyssa has graduated from the bassinet to the crib. Easter weekend the office was mostly finished so the furniture was moved downstairs (pictures of the office and nursery to come). Easter Sunday morning we assembled the crib. One of my friends suggested using the crib sheet as a pillow case for a few nights before we moved her to the crib so that when you place her in there it smells like you and is comforting for baby. It worked! I think the crib transition was more traumatic for me than it was for Alyssa. When I placed her in there the first night she looked so small in such a large crib, it almost brought a tear to my eye, and I was worried about how she felt. The first night in her crib she slept through the night (we had a few nights with 2 a.m. feeds that previous week).
Alyssa has also been switched to formula. I consulted with her doctor about it at 8 weeks; I needed a bit more freedom and I must say it is wonderful that Ryan is able to help with the feeds (especially the middle of the night ones!).
We had a wonderful Easter weekend with the Algies visiting my parents from Ottawa to meet Alyssa for the first time. Then on Sunday Ryan's cousin Jenn announced that her and Matt are expecting a baby in September! We are very happy for Jenn and Matt and happy that Alyssa will have a cousin so close to her in age to grow up with.
