Business Trip

I am away on business currently. First we flew to Vancouver on Monday morning, I'll give you a few things that have happened on our trip. I am here with our product manager for our storage products. First we landed in Vancouver and were waiting for our luggage. There were these little kids who were being SO BAD climbing all over the luggage carousal (not yet moving). Their mother kept threatening to "not give them any Easter candy" if they didn't stop. This isn't the first time I've had a bad experience with kids in an airport, perhaps because you have no choice but to stand there and wait for your luggage. Needless to say the mother's threats did not work. The carousal started up and our luggage was coming along. The kids then felt they had to touch EVERY piece of luggage. Mine came along and I asked them to move out of the way. Well they didn't. I took my luggage off the carousal and it accidentally swung around and hit the one child, who was about 3. I said sorry, I felt horrible, but at the same time they deserved it. Next time keep away from the luggage and listen to your mother, though by the looks of things that will never happen.
This trip was my first traveling with West Jet. I must admit their flight attendants are quite amusing, the first time you fly with them, after that it is just annoying. "Ladies and Gentleman if you could quickly stow your luggage in the overhead compartments or under you seat we can get this Boeing going". Our pilot for the trip to Calgary sang us a song as we were taxiing to take off. It was early in the morning and all I wanted was for the plane to get going and for the attendant to bring me a coffee. Please stop singing and fly the plane.
At the airport in Calgary we were picking up our rental and Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife came in to the car rental place! So we met Dog, but he wouldn't let us take his picture as his "people would get mad". We picked up the car, left the airport and get about 20 mins. away when the car starts making a horrible noise when you go over 80 kms/hr so we had to go back and get another one. What a day. Then we went to Banff and Lake Louise and my stellar map reading skills got us super lost. We ended up back in BC. Unfortunately Lake Louise was frozen, I guess that happens to water in the winter, such a shame, I was looking forward to seeing the Turquoise water. On the way back we got a speeding ticket in Calgary. The fun just does not end.
I had the best steak dinner of my life last night at Caesar's in Calgary, nothing like Alberta beef!
We are staying at Hotel Arts in Calgary, which while decorated nice (at first glance), isn't such a great hotel. I think they took an apartment building and turned it in to a hotel and it isn't finished all that nice. The bonus is our event tonight is at this hotel and we can drink, and not have to worry about driving. My shower this morning was FREEZING cold, so much so I'm not sure I got all the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. I have to say, even having lived in Calgary, I like Vancouver more...however it was sunny while we were in Vancouver, had it been raining my opinion may change.
I'd love to post pictures of our adventures, and similar to my Cozumel trip where I took about 100 pictures of Sunsets, this trip I have 100 pictures of Mountains :) HOWEVER I cannot make my computer talk to my memory stick. Yes I work for Sony and I cannot see my pictures on my computer, I suck.
Looking forward to getting home (and to seeing Stacey tomorrow night!)...
