Met with my dr. today and there are no prescription meds I can take for heartburn, at least not until I try a bunch of things first. First is I have to take Gaviscon when it acts up (which I've already taken when I got home from work and it works really fast, but fizzes up in your mouth, not in a good way, sort of gross). Second we have to raise the head of our bed by 6"...luckily those Pergola posts were trimmed a bit and we didn't throw away the excess so we have 3 pieces of 6x6" cedar under the head of our mattress now. Ryan was not happy with that suggestion, but it feels much more comfy than sleeping sitting up, propped up by pillows (which is another solution I was told to avoid). And last I have to avoid spicy foods (which I pretty much was anyways) and onions, in addition to the foods you have to avoid/limit while pregnant (alcohol, caffeine, etc). We'll see how it goes. I told her I was done with being pregnant and didn't get any sympathy :( Maybe instead of weeks I'll start to count the days I have left...I know 12 weeks = 3 months but 12 weeks mentally sounds like so much less time than 3 months!
