Thunderstorms

While it is nice to have rain and not snow we had an unusual winter thunderstorm last night. Sam started freaking out, per usual, about an hour before the storm started. Alyssa was very fussy. Once the storm kicked in Alyssa was really upset; I have since come to the conclusion she was probably upset because Sam was freaking out and not because of the storm. Once I separated her from the dog she was fine and didn't mind the thunder and lightning. Sam tried to "protect" Alyssa by sitting in front of her bassinet, and then wedging herself between the bassinet and the outside wall of the bedroom. I'm not sure that she makes much of a protector since she's such a wuss.

Ryan got me a Moms Calendar for Christmas that has a saying or story each day. I thought I'd share yesterday's:
A Mommy Moment
Gina found a letter her nine-year-old daughter Darcy had written. It read, "Dear God, I bet it is hard for you to love everyone in the world. There are four people in my family, and it is hard for me to love them all sometimes. Love, Darcy."
Very cute.
