Our Magic Bullet is not so magical after all. After pureeing leftover green beans for Alyssa to eat I noticed the rubber gasket had come lose and became chopped up in to her food. Thank God I noticed this before feeding her the green beans, I thought. Well turns out I didn't notice early enough. Ryan found a piece of rubber in her chicken soup I had pureed about 2 weeks prior. I had made numerous baby food dishes after the chicken soup that all had to be thrown out. I contacted the consumer product safety people at the Government of Canada and they have "documented" my case for me. I warned a friend of mine who also uses her Magic Bullet for baby food and she told me the same thing happened to her mother's Magic Bullet. I contacted the Magic Bullet people and they told me this happens quite often and they'd send me new gaskets. Not an answer I was happy with....so it'll just happen again and you don't care as a company that your product is faulty? I returned the bullet to Costco. I bought a Cuisinart stick blender in its place and it didn't work well so it also got returned. I love my Magic Bullet and am very sad to no longer have it, but I refuse to use a product that has a known fault and the company doesn't care to improve it.

Alyssa had her first trip to the ER last week for a nasty diaper rash. We went to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital and they were amazing. They have a room for children called Nemo's Nook that is painted all bright and cheery with Finding Nemo on the walls. The nurse even placed the hospital gown in a warmer for Alyssa so she wouldn't have to change in to a cold one. We were seen quite quickly and it was such a pleasant experience for our first ER visit.

Alyssa has been walking much more but not on her own yet. She'll now stand for longer unassisted and do a few steps to move from one piece of furniture to the next.
