So I am still sick, with Bronchitis it has now been determined. I suppose I caught it from Ryan, though I didn't think Bronchitis was transferable. I'm sure some of my relatives out there in the medical field(s) might disagree with this but I am speaking from personal experience. I went to the walk in clinic on Sunday because I felt like I was going to die. I had been suffering with a high fever since Wednesday so I was pretty sure I didn't have just a normal cold. The doctor at the clinic listened to my chest through my hooded fleece, long sleeved tshirt and tank top I was wearing. and just listened in 2 spots. I'm no expert but I don't think you can accurately hear whether or not I have Bronchitis through all those layers. He asked me my symptoms to which I replied I have a horrible cough, to the point where I cannot stop coughing and am almost sick to my stomach, and a fever, that's it. He said I just have a cold and he would "prescribe something for me that would help". I filled the prescription and it was a gargle & spit liquid that is for acute sore throats. At no point in my clinic visit did I say I had a sore throat. At the end of my clinic visit he said if you aren't feeling better in a week come back. I ended up going to my family doctor on Tuesday (fever for 6 days at this point) and she determined I have Bronchitis. I showed her the stuff I was prescribed by the clinic and she was dumbfounded. Based on my experience every time I go to the clinic they misdiagnose or prescribe me some random prescription so that I'll go away. So now I've been to the doctor twice for my bronchitis and charged the health system twice. If the walk in clinic doctor would have just listened and done his job properly I would be feeling better by now and I'd be two more days into my prescription. I feel sorry for those people out there who do not have family doctors that must rely on these people when they have health problems.

Hi Katie :)
So here is all you never wanted to know about Bronchitis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronchitis.
The Cliff's Notes version is that bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchi of the lungs and it usually follows a cold or flu. It can be bacterial or viral and it is contagious - it's spread via coughing droplets in the air and/or from touching contaminated surfaces.
It usually lasts 10-11 days and your cough can last for a couple of months after you are mostly better.
That MD who "diagnosed" you at the clinic is a jackass as far as I am concerned - I think I would have said something to him right then at the clinic!
Anyways - I hope you are feeling better and I hope to see you this weekend!
