So I am in Calgary for a quick 1 night trip/show we have to do for a customer. Aren't you glad this post isn't about strollers :) The flight here was brutal and I've decided no more traveling while pregnant if I can avoid it. It was really really turbulent and there were a lot of annoying people on the plane who felt they didn't have to abide by the seat belt light. At one point the flight attendant shouted in to the intercom to remind people to remain in their seats. I am guessing this is due to the recent West Jet flight where the plane suddenly dropped in elevation from Calgary to Halifax and people were hurt. There was a large group of German tourists on the plane and they kind of freaked me out a little. This one large, tall German man was rambling on loud in German because he had to return to his seat while in line for the washroom because the seat belt light came back on. Then there was another German man in front of me who asked the flight attendant for a parachute when she came around asking what we wanted to drink. Not funny.
On another note I am not sure why people clap when the plane lands. Perhaps after a flight like today it is a "thank God we are on the ground safe" clap. I am not sure whether or not I have mentioned this before in posts but nobody claps for me when I do my job properly on a daily basis, and I do not clap for the flight attendants or the pilot.
Calgary is COLD compared to Ontario today; I hear yesterday it snowed here but it is supposed to be getting warmer, I think 17 degrees by the end of today.
I am very excited for American shopping and the fact our loonie is on par with the US greenback now :) It really sucks for business for me because of the large amount of grey market product that comes up from the US but only a few more months of work anyways :)
Well off to the show I have to work, then out to dinner with Stacey (friend from University of Guelph days). MMM Alberta Beef!!!
