I think I have a new obsession: finding the "perfect" stroller (for us anyways) . I have considered many options now. Originally I was set on the Quinny Freestyle, from Sears. I am looking for an all terrain type stroller, but not necessarily a jogger. I don't see myself jogging with the baby, but I do plan on doing lots of outdoor walks to get back in to shape, and I hope to walk the dog and the baby at the same time. Ryan and I went to check out the Quinny again on Friday. Upon folding it we discovered it is WAY TOO HEAVY for Katie to lift, especially up and in to my little SUV. And given that I still have back problems from the car accident, and that you can't lift much of anything when you first give birth, the Quinny has been taken off the contenders list. It also was a pain to get the car seat clicked on to it and the buckles were difficult, as the salesperson pointed out, not so good when you are trying to do it in the pouring rain, or snow/cold, you get the picture. She then pointed out the good selling features of the Graco travel system, but I'm really wanting more of an all terrain type stroller, and I didn't like the colour of the Graco model, if I have to see it everyday for a few years I want it to be one I like. We then went to Toys R Us, they didn't have much either but are bringing in a bunch of new models September 8 (also have a baby sale on then). I wasn't really impressed with what they had on the floor currently. Also under consideration was the Zooper Boogie, but upon reading stroller reviews it looks as if others will be better.
We've decided this weekend we will go to Moms to be and More at Bayview and Eglinton. They are supposed to be great help with finding the perfect stroller and I've heard you can take them for test drives in the area :) I am now considering the Phil and Ted's sport model, which is $100 cheaper in the states than it is in Canada. It is the lightest of the all terrain strollers and the most compact. I have seen it in one store and folded and lifted it with no problems. We may have to pick it up when we make our fall colours road trip/babymoon in October...I have heard New Hampshire has no sales tax as well, so I will try to pick it up there so long as it isn't too far off our tracks.
