Happily we survived Christmas, Ryan's birthday and New Years without going in to labour. My last doctor's appointment was New Years Eve (morning) and I was a little dialated and the baby had dropped "considerably" since the last appointment. So now we wait. My blood pressure and swelling seem to be under control so I'm back to having my doctor appointments 7 days apart. I've been having lots of contractions, though none that seem to increase in frequency/intensity. I also have LOTS of pain in my lower back and pelvis that are flu-like where your bones hurt. I'm sure the -17 degree temperature outside isn't helping. We have a maximum of 15 more baby-free days, as I'll be induced on the 18th should baby not arrive before then.
While waiting for baby I've continued on my nesting. I cleaned out the office in preparation for moving everything downstairs and purged like crazy. There were lots of old things I didn't need to hold on to anymore taking up space in the office closet. Speaking of the office, Ryan has finished running the wiring, so we just need our electrician friend to come in and hook it up. Then we are on to drywall! I've washed all the baby clothes and we finally got the dresser completely assembled and put everything away. Yesterday I cleaned out the oven. Last night I put all the Christmas decorations away, so now we just have an undecorated tree in our living room for Ryan to collapse and box-up. On today's agenda is finishing up in the office (I still have some filing to do) and cleaning out the fridge. We inherited a dresser from one of our neighbours (that they inherited from someone but didn't have room for) as well as a headboard from Rosemary and Sean that I'm working on sanding and eventually will be staining for the guest room that I will tackle a bit more of today. I am done the drawers so I just have to do the main part of the dresser and then the headboard. The dresser just had a light clear coat of stain/varnish on it so it hasn't been that difficult to tackle. We have to buy the stain for both pieces and new hardware for the dresser drawers. I've been careful to wear a mask and gloves while sanding and I'll have Ryan do the staining so I'm not inhaling the fumes. Then I think I'm mostly caught up on what I wanted to accomplish before baby arrives! Last to check off my list is my pedicure on Saturday which I really hope to squeeze in.
