Alyssa has her 3rd and 4th teeth popping through! I had to deal with a cranky baby the last few days but she seems better today and the gums have finally let the top 2 centre teeth through. It will be so strange to see her smile and have 4 teeth showing.
She also has amazed us by figuring out how to stand up on her own, using a chair or something to pull herself up to standing. I think it first happened on Tuesday, she was playing on the floor and I went in to the kitchen to get a drink. When I came back in she was standing, holding on to her chair. Last night she did it again for Ryan and I while we were getting dinner ready. I still think she'll go straight to walking as she's not crawling yet.
We are slowly getting around to baby proofing. I'm not going all crazy with putting cabinet locks on everything, mostly just dangerous things, like where the garbage is kept. I could care less if she wants to play with the pots and pans...those are the "toys" kids seem to enjoy most!

Kai was pulling himself up to standing somewhere before 5 months. At 5 1/2 months, he was cruising (walking while holding onto stuff.) He crawled at 7 months and walked at 8 1/2 months, so he still crawled before he "walked". Mind you, he was also, uh, abnormal.
But my point is that Alyssa may surprise you and crawl before she walks.
