Crafty

Last week I found a great deal on Microfibre Bar Mop Towels at Superstore. They were regularly 4 for $6.99 on for $1.94. (On a completely unrelated note – they have a tag on them that says do not iron – who irons these anyways? Besides Martha Stewart or perhaps her staff.) I wanted some Microfibre dishcloths for the kitchen, and some for product-free dusting. I noticed in the cleaning supplies aisle Superstore sells a 2 pack of kitchen Microfibre cloths for $4.49. I took 1 of the Bar Mop Towels and turned it in to 4 washcloths for the kitchen. In my effort to reduce, reuse, I took 2 other towels and turned them in to washable, reusable Swiffer cloths with the help of this post (I even had 2 pieces of towel left to use for dusting cloths after cutting out the 4 pieces required to make the Swiffer). I didn’t bother rounding out the top of the larger piece, mostly because you cut it anyways so I didn’t see the point (unless you REALLY want it to look exactly like a Swiffer). From start to finish they took under 50 minutes to make 2. Microfibre is amazing for cleaning; better, I find, than a Swiffer. If only my home economics teacher could see me now…and thankfully I was able to borrow my mom’s sewing machine for a while so I can do crafty things while Alyssa sleeps (and save us money). For those of you who aren’t crafty I am now accepting orders ;)
