Well we are making progress...maybe too much progress. I had my 32 week OB appt today. I have been having painful Braxton Hicks contractions for the past week or so, lasting about 20 mins and no matter what I do they don't go away (suggestions I've read are change your position, lie on a different side, etc). I've also had incredible pain and pressure in my pelvis, like my bones hurt. Apparently all of this is good news and the doctor thinks I'll go early. Baby's head has dropped into position. She even gave me my hospital paperwork today (friends who have had babies have not had this until 36 weeks, eek!). I said to the OB it figures, I want the baby to wait until January, so Murphy's Law, it'll come early. The good news is she said with the all the contractions and such my labour should be easier as it is less work for my body to do once labour starts. I also had a friend who's OB said she'd go early, he was thinking at least 2 weeks or so early, and it ended up only being a few days. Time will tell!
Ryan is moving along with getting the office moved downstairs. We had a friend's dad who is a plumber come in last week to move the laundry to where the permanent laundry room will be (and moving it out of the future office area). On the weekend we mapped out where the walls will go; and Ryan plans to start the framing on the weekend. I am hoping my brother can help with the majority of the electrical work. Our fence is also finished now on the third side, Ryan finished that on Saturday. Now we just need to do a temporary gate on one side so Sam can't get out (eventually there will be a bit of a retaining wall and gate on that side) and a permanent gate will hopefully be constructed one night this week for the other side.
I had my "friends" (as opposed to family) shower yesterday and it was a very nice afternoon hosted by Nikki and Shannon. I got to see some of the "Guelph Girls" who I have not seen in such a long time. I got to meet Charity's new baby Sophia, who is such a great baby! It is a shame we don't get together more often but life gets so busy. It will be nice to see the Guelph Girls again on December 8 when we have our annual Christmas dinner.
Today after my dr's appt I went to Toys R Us to exchange a few duplicate gifts and stock up on the items I still needed to get. I also went to Walmart to stock up and get items ready for my hospital bag. Feeling a little more prepared now that I at least own the items I'll be requiring :) We still have to get our crib which was recalled and not available anywhere. We are toying with the idea of changing what we "want" to one that is available (perhaps in White and not dark wood as originally planned). Now I must get back to sorting through all my gifts and on to laundering the clothes and crib sheets, etc.
