Great Weekend

We've had a great (and productive!) weekend. Friday night while leafing through the Era Banner I noticed cribs were on sale on Saturday morning until 11 a.m. for 25% off. This makes our crib only $30 more than it is in the States. It was part of Sears "Stronger Dollar, Better Prices" sale. So after calling around I discovered they had it downtown at the Eaton Centre, which was good as I was going to be downtown on Saturday anyways. So mom and I went to the Eaton Centre and she purchased the crib and mattress (also on sale) for us, which was our baby shower present from my parents. The crib and mattress worked out to be less than the regular price of the crib (and has saved us a trip to the US). The best part was they didn't have stock so they've ordered it to come in to the Newmarket store for us and it will be in on Saturday. Saturday afternoon mom and I went to see Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the Sony Centre in Toronto. It is based on the movie White Christmas which is my mom's favourite. The play was very well done and we had an enjoyable afternoon. Saturday evening while watching Hockey Night in Canada Ryan and I assembled the Bassinet/5 in 1 sleep system. This morning I picked up a crib that my boss was nice enough to give us. It will live at my parents house so that we don't have to bring sleeping stuff for the baby with us when they babysit or if we visit. They also gave us some Exersaucers, rocker/vibrating chair, and a change table. This afternoon I went over to Chris and Nikki's and watched Danica for a bit while the boys headed down to the Grey Cup (Ryan won tickets through Sneakers) and while Nikki was at the barn. Then we went through the clothes which Danica has grown out of and sorted through them, separating in to gender neutral and "girl", and I brought them all home. We are SO appreciative of all the donations we've had from family and friends to help us out with baby!

We had a huge dumping of snow (14 cms was the official count I believe) on Thursday so that has delayed the gate installation for the backyard but hopefully we can come up with a solution soon so that Sam can enjoy our fenced-in yard.

just look at how you're showing up all those clueless people that say shopping is not a skill - nice score on the crib!
